Press Release — “Momentum”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vancouver’s Too-Phat Releases “Momentum” — A Post-Pandemic Reflection on Finding Real Connection Through Gaming
Vancouver, BC — Canadian Indigenous hip-hop artist Too-Phat (Zachariah Matheson) releases “Momentum,” a reflective single born from the isolation of the pandemic era and the unexpected friendships that emerged from virtual worlds.
Written during a period when real human connection had become rare, “Momentum” traces the journey from social disconnection to finding genuine friendship in an unexpected place — the virtual world of Nifty Island, a Web3 gaming platform. It was there that Too-Phat connected with DJ Jagman, a DJ and collaborator whose creative energy inspired the track and reminded him what real community felt like.
The single speaks to a generation that went years without real conversation — envisioning a space where competition gives way to connection, where winning isn’t the point, and where music becomes the bridge between isolation and belonging. Through “Momentum,” Too-Phat channels the experience of rewriting what community means, one bar at a time.
“Momentum” is available now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
